Terms & Conditions

Entrant Terms and Conditions:

  1. Non-compliance with rules: The RTTR organisers reserve the right to disqualify any participants found to be in violation of the competition terms and Conditions or behaving inappropriately during the event.
  2. Designers must ensure that their entries meet the specific category criteria as outlined on the RTTR Website. Failure to meet the criteria may result in disqualification.
  3. The judges’ verdict on the winners and finalists of the fashion design competition is binding and cannot be challenged. Participants are expected to refrain from questioning or openly discussing the judges’ decisions during the competition. Trust in the expertise and impartiality of the judging panel is crucial to maintaining the integrity of the event.
  4. Participants must refrain from engaging in derogatory discussions, gossip, or making negative remarks about fellow designers or models. Maintaining a supportive and inclusive environment is one of the RTTR core values, and any form of bullying or poor conduct will not be tolerated
  5. Permission for use of images: By participating in the competition, fashion designers automatically grant permission for the use of any photographed images or video content by the RTTR organisers, to be used in any way they see fit for promotional purposes.
  6. The RTTR organises cannot be held responsible for any lost or damaged property during the event. Participants are advised to take necessary precautions to safeguard their belongings.
  7. All participants enter and compete in the fashion design competition at their own risk. The RTTR organisers and its staff will not be held liable for any issues or incidents that may occur during the event.
  8. The RTTR organizers and its staff are not responsible for any personal injuries sustained during the competition. Participants should take necessary precautions and ensure their own safety.

Designer Registration

  1. One registration fee entitles the entrant to submit entries under any or all categories across the competition.
  2. Designers may submit 1 (only) entry per category, a separate submission form must be completed for each category entered.
  3. All entries must be original creations of the participating designers. Plagiarised or copied designs will lead to immediate disqualification from the competition. (Entry fee is non-refundable)
  4. All design entries must be submitted by the deadline as specified on the website. Late submissions will not be accepted.
  5. Entries open to: Student Designer You are a STUDENT DESIGNER if any of the following apply: – You are a secondary school student – You are under 18 years of age – You are of any age studying a fashion related subject at tertiary, university, or an independent college (you must be either currently enrolled or have graduated or ceased study within the past 24 months) YOU ARE INELIGIBLE IF You have ever earned more than $5000 in one calendar year, through the sale or hire of your designs from any enterprise, boutique or online entity. Emerging designer You are an EMERGING DESIGNER if any of the following apply: – You are a fashion study graduate who graduated or ceased study more than 24 months ago – You are a self-taught designer who is not yet established in the commercial sale of your designs. – You may have launched your label and started your sales journey but are not yet commercially established. YOU ARE INELIGIBLE IF You have ever earned more than $5000 in one calendar year, through the sale or hire of your designs from any enterprise, boutique or online entity.
  6. Entries must be presented in a runway-ready condition, finished, and steamed, props and accessories are encouraged to tell a story on the runway.
  7. Designers retain the intellectual property rights to their creations but acknowledge that the RTTR organisers may showcase and promote their designs during the competition and related events.
  8. Participants who win Designer of the year on 3 consecutive years in the competition will become ineligible to compete in subsequent years. This policy aims to provide opportunities for new and emerging designers.


Additional rules and regulations The RTTR organisers reserve the right to establish and enforce any additional rules or regulations deemed necessary for the smooth running and fairness of the competition. Participants are expected to adhere to these rules and By ticking this box you agree that you have read and agree to the Terms and Conditions and have the relevant parental or guardian permission if applicable.
